Johan Hendrik Weissenbruch (1824-1903) was a Dutch artist noted for his watercolors.  His original watercolor painting, "The Canal" is owned by the Toledo Museum of Art.  During a watercolor class taught by Paul Brand at the Toledo Artists Club last Wednesday our class copied "The Canal" to better understand the artist's visual language.  I love the harmonies created by using only three colors: Yellow Ochre, Venetian Red and Prussian Blue.
