At the 2025 Scenes from the Metroparks Exhibition at the Toledo Artists' Club, this painting was awarded an Honorable Mention.  The juror wrote, "Fire Hydrant is an exceptional use of color.  It evokes the coldness of winter, balancing the complements red and green.  The red of the fire hydrant and the three cardinals keep the eye circling around the composition.  There is motion even though only one of the birds is in flight."  The framed size is 19" x 16."
